Children build oral language skills as they answer fun questions about spring!

This engaging activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 1st grade / 4 - 6 years

You will need:

Directions

  1. Draw a title for your mystery can on a sheet of construction paper. Color and decorate it with markers, crayons or colored pencils.
  2. Cut out the title and glue it to the side of your coffee can.
  3. Write the following writing prompts on small paper squares. Fold each one in half and place them all in the can.
  4. To encourage oral language development, ask a student each day (during circle time or your morning meeting) to choose a prompt from the can. Read it out loud and let children respond orally to a partner or to the class.
