Mother’s Day Teacup Cards
|
Celebrate Mother’s Day by making an adorable card for Mom or Grandma!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years
You will need:
Directions
- Explain to students that they will be making Mother’s Day cards. Allow each student to select a sheet of construction paper in any color to use for the card. Have students fold their paper in half.
- Give each student a copy of the teacup template and a pair of scissors. Have students cut out the teacup shapes. Instruct them to glue the blank teacup on the outside of the card and the teacup with the poem on the inside of the card.
- Provide students with glitter paint and markers or crayons, and encourage them to decorate their cards. Prompt them to write the name of the recipient on the blank teacup (Mommy, Mom, Grandma, Nana, etc.) and sign their names beneath the poem on the inside of the card. (Have younger students dictate to you as you write.)
- When students are finished with their cards, help them staple a tea bag inside. Encourage them to present the card to their mom or grandma for Mother’s Day!
