Leap Year Frog Craft

Leap into leap year with this adorable frog puppet and poem!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 1st grade / 3 - 6 years

You will need:

Frog template
Leap year poem
Paper lunch bag (brown or white)
Lakeshore Glue Sticks
Markers or crayons
Safety Scissors

Directions

Provide each student with a copy of the frog template, markers or crayons, and a pair of scissors.
Have students color and cut out the frog template. (Younger students may need help cutting.)
Give each student a paper lunch bag and glue. Instruct students to lay the bag flat on their desk or table so the side with the flap is facing up.
Show students how to glue the frog’s head onto the flap (the bottom of the bag) and the frog’s body to the front of the bag.
Provide each student with a copy of the leap year poem to glue onto the back of the bag. Have students use their puppets as they practice reading the poem!
