Directions
- Give each student a set of painted craft sticks (one blue stick and six blue–and-white sticks).
- Instruct students to place the blue–and–white sticks side by side, with the blue part of each stick on top. Then have students glue the blue stick across the other sticks where the blue and white paint meet. (The blue stick will make the brim of the snowman’s hat. The white portion will become the snowman’s face.)
- Have students glue wiggly eyes onto the snowman’s face just beneath the hat.
- Help students cut a small triangle from orange construction paper and glue it on the snowman’s face to make a nose.
- Give each student five tissue paper squares and have students roll each square into a ball. Instruct them to glue the paper balls onto the snowman’s face to make a mouth.
- Have students glue a length of ribbon onto the hat just above the brim.
- Attach a magnetic strip to the back of each snowman. Encourage students to take the snowmen home and use them to display winter artwork!
