Children bring the beauty of nature inside as they create a butterfly mural for the classroom!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - kindergarten / 3 - 5 years

You will need:

Preparation

Cut a large sheet of butcher paper to fit a classroom wall or bulletin board.
Set out the craft materials, glue and paint.

Directions

Provide children with paintbrushes and ask them to paint an outdoor scene as the background for their mural. For example, they can paint a sky with clouds and a sun and add flowers, trees and grass below. Allow the paint to dry.
Give one butterfly shape from the craft kit to each child and have children decorate the butterflies using the included craft materials.
Help children glue the completed butterflies onto the painted butcher paper and allow the glue to dry.
Display the mural on a wall or bulletin board to enjoy the colors of nature indoors!
