Holiday Card Stand
|
Display your favorite holiday greeting cards—in a fun-to-make stand that’s covered in pom-poms, snowflakes, stars and more!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool & up / 3 years & up
You will need:
Directions
- Fold a pipe stem in the center, forming a “V”. Then, bend both of the ends back approximately ½", toward the outside. (If you stand the pipe stem on these little “feet”, the top of the “V” should be pointing up.) Lay a jumbo craft stick on the table and keeping your pipe stem “V” standing upright, tape each of the little feet onto opposite ends of the craft stick. This will form a stand for the card holder.
- Fold about 5" of one end of a piece of construction paper (short side) up and tape the sides together, forming a pocket. Then, fold the remaining paper in half. The pocket should face the outside. Note: You may want to prep some of these for younger children.
- Lay the holder flat and decorate the pocket, along with the rest of the holder if desired, using various collage materials.
- Take your completed card stand, with the craft stick flat on the table, and stand the construction paper card holder over it, so that the top of the pipe stem “V” is aligned with the fold in the construction paper.
- Tape each of the pipe stem “legs” to the inside of the card holder for support.
Let the holiday cards roll in! Your holder is ready for use.
