Celebrate the spirit of giving with these easy-to-make holiday gift tags!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 5th grade / 3 - 10 years
You will need:
- Construction Paper - 9" x 12"
- Washable Fine-Tip Markers - Class Pack
- Crinkle-Cut Craft Scissors Center
- Help-Yourself Glue Tubes
- Glitter Pack - Set of 12
- Spangles & Sequins
- Hole punch (optional)
- Ribbon or string (optional)
Directions
- Provide students with plenty of construction paper in a variety of colors. Either set out some paper that is pre-cut into various shapes (e.g., ovals, squares, rectangles, trees, bells, candles) or encourage students to use the crinkle-cut craft scissors to cut their own gift tag shapes.
- Next, have students decorate the tags with a variety of collage materials (e.g., glitter, spangles and sequins) and use the markers to write holiday messages, such as “Happy Hanukkah,” “Seasons Greetings,” or “Celebrate Kwanzaa!”
- If desired, punch a hole near the edge of the tag and thread a length of ribbon or string through the tag, or use tape to attach the tag to a holiday gift.
