Fall Leaf Wreath
|
These easy-to-make door decorations will bring a splash of autumn color to any home!
This activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 3rd grade / 4 - 8 years
You will need:
- Leaves template
- Construction Paper - 9" x 12" or Foam Sheets (orange, yellow, red and brown)
- Safety Scissors
- Tacky Glue
- Paper plates
- Ribbon or string
- Hole punch
Directions
- Print several copies of the leaves template and cut out the leaves.
- Provide students with construction paper or foam sheets in a variety of fall colors. Invite students to trace the leaves onto the sheets and cut them out. (You may want to precut the leaves for younger students.)
- Give each student a paper plate. Show students how to cut a large circle from the center of the plate. The remaining ring will form the base of the wreath.
- Instruct students to glue leaves onto the ring, overlapping the leaves to form a colorful wreath.
- Once the glue has dried, help each student punch a hole in the top of the wreath. Tie a length of ribbon or string through the hole. You can also use ribbon to make a bow and glue it to the top of the wreath.
- Encourage students to take their wreaths home to hang on their front door or bedroom door!
