Students can bring any story to life…with delightful character puppets they create themselves!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years

You will need:

White paper bags
Construction Paper - 9" x 12"
Lakeshore Crayon Packs or Washable Fine-Tip Markers - Student Pack
Lakeshore Glue Sticks
A variety of craft materials, such as Wiggly Eyes, Hair-Colors Crinkle Strips, Pipe Stems, yarn, buttons and beads

Directions

After reading a story aloud, encourage students to identify the main characters.
Have students decorate the bag using colored construction paper for clothing to represent a character.
Encourage students to glue details onto their character using a variety of materials such as pipe stems, yarn or crinkle strips for hair, wiggly eyes, buttons and beads.
Read through the story again and let students act out the events in the story with their puppets!
