Bear Hug Mother’s Day Card

Your students will love creating this adorable card for Mom!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 1st grade / 3 - 6 years

You will need:

Preparation

Photocopy the teddy bear onto white construction paper. You will need one bear for each student.
Photocopy the heart poem reproducible onto red or pink construction paper. Cut out one heart for each student.
Cut sheets of construction paper in half (widthwise) for students to use as the background of their cards.

Directions

Give each student a teddy bear, a heart poem, and a sheet of construction paper.
Have students color the teddy bear and cut it out. They can then fold its arms along the dashed lines and glue the bear onto the sheet of construction paper while making sure they don’t glue down the arms. Instruct students to glue the message heart to the teddy bear’s tummy.
Encourage students to glue a pair of wiggly eyes onto the teddy bear’s face.
Have students write their name on the blank line beneath the poem on the heart.
Have students take the card home to present to Mom on Mother’s Day!
