Autumn Nature Mobile
|
A cool decorative mobile…filled with fun fall shapes!
This activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 2nd grade / 4 - 7 years
You will need:
- 2 thin tree branches, about 10"-12" long
- Tissue or newspaper
- Stapler
- Construction Paper - 9" x 12"
- Washable Fine-Tip Markers - Class Pack
- Yarn Laces with Tips
- Hole punch
- Various collage materials (if desired)
- Mobile template
Directions
- Tie the branches together in the middle, forming an “X” shape. Wrap the yarn tightly around the juncture several times so that it is secure.
- Trace each template onto 2 pieces of construction paper, and then cut them out. If desired, decorate each shape.
- Place the matching shapes back-to-back, and then have an adult help you staple them together around the edges. Leave one side open.
- Stuff the shapes with tissue or newspaper, through the openings you've left.
- When your shapes are stuffed, staple the openings closed.
- Punch a hole in the top of each 3-D shape. Thread a piece of yarn through each hole.
- Use the yarn to tie one shape to the end of each twig.
- Hang up your mobile for everyone to enjoy!
