Help save trees…with a reusable bag that you decorate yourself!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 3rd grade / 3 - 8 years

You will need:

Decorate-Your-Own Tote Bags - Set of 15
3 or 4 apples
Superbright Liquid Tempera - 1 Pint
(red, yellow, green, and brown paint)
Small paintbrush
4 small bowls

Directions

Cut each apple in half—some vertically and some horizontally.
Use a small paintbrush to paint a brown tree trunk and branches on the tote bag. You can also paint some green grass along the bottom of the bag, if desired.
Pour each color of paint into a bowl. Dip an apple into the paint, and then press it directly onto the tote bag to stamp out an apple on each tree branch. (You may want to practice on paper first!)
Let dry overnight. Your tote bag is ready to use!
Take your bag to the grocery store or market to carry fruits and vegetables when you go shopping! You can also take your bag along if you go apple picking or on a nature hike, to carry the things you find along the way!
