Back-To-School Bookmark Clips

These simple, stylish bookmarks add a personal touch to each student’s reading time!

This activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 2nd grade / 4 - 7 years

You will need:

White Butcher Paper Roll or recycled newspaper
Clothespins (one per student)
Jumbo Tempera Painters - 6-Color Set (variety of colors)
Peel & Stick 3-D Letters
Washable Fine-Tip Markers - Class Pack

Directions

Cover the students’ work space with recycled newspaper or butcher paper.
Provide each student with a clothespin. Then invite students to choose a Jumbo Tempera Painter in any color and paint their clothespin. Allow the clothespins to dry.
Have students select the letter of their first initial from the Peel & Stick 3-D Letters. Help students attach this letter to the top of their clothespin to create their bookmark clip!
Have students use markers to write their names on the backs of their bookmark clips so students with the same first initials don’t get their clips confused with one another.
Encourage students to use their personalized bookmarks when reading for pleasure!
