Number Sense Bingo
3rd–5th Grade
Objectives Objectives
  • Students will build number sense.
  • Students will use operations to solve math riddles.
Materials Materials Needed
Procedure Procedure

  1. Print and photocopy the bingo card reproducible. Cut along the dashed lines. Give each student a bingo card and a box of candy hearts.
  2. Print the Number Sense Bingo Riddles, cut them apart and place them in a bag or box. Write the answers on the board but do not show the riddle number. Instruct students to randomly select answers and write them in the spaces on their cards. Point out that there will be six answers leftover.
  3. Choose and read aloud the riddles one at a time. Prompt students to look for the answer to each riddle on their card. If they have the answer, they can cover it with a candy heart.
  4. The first student to cover five spaces in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) wins the game!

Independent Practice

Independent Practice

  1. Provide each student with a copy of the “Valentine Riddle” reproducible.
  2. After students have answered each question, have them use their answers to solve the riddle at the bottom of the page! (The correct answer is “I love ewe!”)
