Character Puppet

Children can bring any story to life…with delightful character puppets they create themselves!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years
You will need:
- White paper bag
- Construction Paper - 9" x 12"
- Lakeshore Crayon Packs or Best-Buy Washable Fine-Tip Markers
- Lakeshore Glue Sticks
- A variety of craft materials, such as Wiggly Eyes, Hair-Colors Crinkle Strips, Pipe Stems, yarn, buttons and beads
Directions
- After reading a story aloud, encourage your child to identify the main characters.
- Have your child decorate the bag to represent a character using colored construction paper for clothing.
- Encourage your child to glue details onto her character using a variety of materials, such as pipe stems, yarn or crinkle strips for hair, wiggly eyes, buttons, beads and markers.
- Read through the story again and let your child act out the events in the story with the puppet!
