Fourth of July Firecracker Example

Children celebrate the Fourth of July with a festive firecracker they make themselves!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 3rd grade / 3 - 8 years

You will need:

Directions

  1. Invite children to paint a paper towel tube with yellow tempera paint. Once dry, encourage children to paint the tube with gold glitter paint. Set aside to dry.
  2. Next, help children tape different colored pipe stems to the inside of one end of the paper towel tube.
  3. Decorate the outside of the tube with Wiggly Eyes, and glue on a glitter pom-pom for the nose. Now, kids are ready to celebrate Independence Day with their own Fourth of July firecracker!
