Directions

1. Cut 11 ovals out of your construction paper—6 brown and 5 green. Each oval should be about 7" long.
2. Lay the ovals out in an AB pattern (brown, green, brown, green, etc.).
3. Use brad fasteners or glue to connect each oval to the next.
4. Cut out a tongue from red construction paper and glue it to the front of the first oval.
5. Use markers or crayons to draw eyes on the first oval. On the other ovals, write the numbers 1-10 in order.
6. Encourage children to use the snake to practice counting from 1 to 10. For children who are ready for an extra challenge, write the even numbers from 2 to 20 on the back of the snake and have them practice counting by twos!
