This vibrant Thanksgiving centerpiece is sure to be a holiday favorite!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool & up / 3 years & up
You will need:
- Hands template
- Construction Paper - 9" x 12" (Brown & Yellow)
- Wiggly Eyes
- Colored Feathers
- Best-Buy School Glue
- Crayons or markers
Directions
- Print and cut out the hand template, two for each child. Have kids color the hands.
- Cut pieces of brown construction paper in half lengthwise, and brown 5" circles. Also cut diamonds approximately 3½" long x 2" wide out of yellow construction paper.
- Form a circle out of a pre-cut strip of brown construction paper. Glue both ends of the strip together. Stand the circle up on the table.
- Fold the yellow diamond in half (widthwise), forming the beak of your turkey. Glue the bottom half of the “beak” onto the middle of a brown circle, allowing the top part to lift upward. Add finishing touches to your turkey’s face with wiggly eyes and feathers.
- Glue the face onto the front of the circle strip of paper, about halfway down.
- Glue hand templates onto the body, one on either side of the head. The fingers of the hands should point away from the head. These are the wings.
- Glue feathers around the outside of the body, being careful not to cover the face.
Your turkey is ready to be the center of attention!
