Turtle Example

Kids get creative as they make their own turtle, complete with wiggly eyes and a painted shell!

This activity is appropriate for:
kindergarten - 3rd grade / 5 - 8 years

You will need:

Directions

  1. Paint the backside of a small paper plate with brown washable tempera paint. Set aside to dry.
  2. Paint the paper bowl green. Set aside to dry.
  3. Cut green tissue paper into 1" squares.
  4. Glue the green tissue paper squares to the bowl. Set aside to dry.
  5. Using the turtle template, trace and cut a head, tail, and four legs out of green construction paper.
  6. Glue the head, tail, and legs to the unpainted side of the paper plate.
  7. Glue the bowl to the paper plate.
  8. Add wiggly eyes and a smile using markers.
  9. Punch a hole in the tail of the turtle and display with yarn.
