Discover the magic of color mixing as you create vibrant autumn leaves!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 3rd grade / 3 - 8 years

Cut leaf shapes out of the coffee filters. (Here’s a hint: you can make your leaves symmetrical by folding the filter in half before cutting.)
Fill a few sections of the ice tray or muffin tin with water. Add a drop or two of food coloring to each section to create colored water.
Tear the newspaper into strips. Lay your leaves out on newspaper or paper plates.
Use the eyedropper to drip different colors of water onto the leaves. Watch what happens when the colors start to spread and mix with each other!
