silly spyglass & binoculars
The focus is on fun when kids make and decorate these crafty play telescopes and binoculars!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years
You will need:
- Cardboard paper towel tube
- Collage materials
- Fabric & yarn scraps
- Best-Buy Scissors
- Best-Buy School Glue
- Yarn
- Hole punch (for binoculars)
- Craft tape (for binoculars)
Directions
- Find an empty cardboard paper towel tube.
- Glue fabric around the outside of the tube.
- Use collage materials to decorate the outside of the tube.
- To make binoculars, cut your tube in half and use craft tape to attach the two sides together.
- If you’re making binoculars, punch a hole on the outside edge of each tube. Tie yarn through the hole to make a handy carrying strap.
- Take your spyglass or binoculars outside to peek at insects, plants, and more!
