The focus is on fun when kids make and decorate these crafty play telescopes and binoculars!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years

You will need:

Directions

  1. Find an empty cardboard paper towel tube.
  2. Glue fabric around the outside of the tube.
  3. Use collage materials to decorate the outside of the tube.
  4. To make binoculars, cut your tube in half and use craft tape to attach the two sides together.
  5. If you’re making binoculars, punch a hole on the outside edge of each tube. Tie yarn through the hole to make a handy carrying strap.
  6. Take your spyglass or binoculars outside to peek at insects, plants, and more!
