colorful ladybugs
It’s a garden of grins…as kids paint and decorate adorable ladybugs!
This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years
You will need:
- Smooth round rocks
- Lakeshore Fully Washable Liquid Tempera - Pints
- Wiggly Eyes
- Black marker
- Pipe Stems (Optional)
- Mini Pom-Poms (Optional)
Directions
- NOTE: After any step involving paint, be sure to let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step.
- Wash and dry all your rocks thoroughly.
- Paint the rocks any color you choose. You might want to make a red ladybug…but you can also use yellow, green, purple, or any other color.
- Paint about the first 1/4 of your rock black. This will be the ladybug’s head.
- Draw a black line down the center of your rock, from the head to the tail. As an alternative, you can glue a black pipe stem onto the rock to create this line.
- Paint black spots on your ladybug’s back. You can also glue black mini pom-poms to your ladybug, if you wish.
- Glue 2 Wiggly Eyes to the ladybug.
