Stained Glass Window Example

Kids make beautiful stained glass art that looks just like the real thing!

This activity is appropriate for:
1st - 3rd grade / 6 - 8 years

You will need:

Directions

  1. Using the dot art painters, invite kids to create a design onto a 12" x 9" sheet of white tissue paper. Set aside to dry.
  2. Once the paint is dry, outline the designs in black marker to represent stained glass.
  3. Fold a 12" x 18" sheet of construction paper in half to form a 12" x 9" rectangle.
  4. Using crinkle-cut craft scissors, cut out the center of the folded sheet of construction paper to create a frame with a 1" border.
  5. Place the painted tissue paper inside the frame and seal it by gluing the tissue paper to the construction paper.
  6. Using tacky glue, decorate the stained glass frame with crystal mosaic tiles.
  7. Punch a hole at the top and display with yarn!
