• Administration: includes management, lead personnel, administrative/clerical positions, wave planners, security, and custodial
• Receiving: handles incoming truck shipments
• Storage Management: transports merchandise using forklifts and bobtail trucks
• Shipping: picks, checks, and ships customer and store orders
• Returns: receives and processes customer returns
• Kitting: performs light assembly work using automated equipment
• Inventory Control: responsible for verifying stock on hand and loading information into the warehouse management system
• Maintenance: responsible for all equipment services and repairs, building maintenance, and some fabrication
• Night Shift: primarily handles storage management duties; shift is from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.

About the Distribution Center
Twenty-five years ago, Lakeshore's Distribution Center was a small facility with just a few dozen employees processing orders. Inventory was done manually, and every order was a hard-copy document, hand delivered from the corporate offices next door. Order pickers rode up and down the warehouse aisles on roller skates, pushing shopping carts to carry the products for each order!

Today, the Distribution Center is a fast-paced, six-building operation comprising over 1 million square feet—with a fully automated conveyor system, radio frequency devices, a state-of-the-art warehouse management system, and over 300 employees. Our equipment is so efficient that we've eliminated the manual inventory—not to mention the roller skates—and we're able to ship thousands of packages per day. We work hard to keep every item in stock—with a 99 percent success rate.
